Intrinsyc Taipei Office Delivers Board Support Packages, Application Porting, Training, and More

Vancouver, BC – Intrinsyc Software International, Inc. (TSX: ICS), a leading provider of software solutions for mobile and embedded devices, today announced the completion of an engineering services agreement with Unitech Electronics Co., Ltd., a leading worldwide designer, manufacturer and supplier of Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) products. The announcement highlights the success of Intrinsyc’s Taipei office, which serves high-volume Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore.

Intrinsyc provided Unitech Electronics with Windows Mobile and Windows Embedded CE software development for a data collection terminal with data-only wireless connectivity. Services delivered by Intrinsyc Solutions Engineering teams included the development of Windows Mobile 6 Premium Edition and Windows CE 6.0 Board Support Packages (BSPs) targeting a Marvell PXA320 and Siemens Wireless Module HC25 platform; on-site support for board bring-up; application porting; driver debugging; Logo Test Kit (LTK) training and consulting; and development of a Windows Mobile Power Management Architecture.

“Intrinsyc provided excellent service and a fixed-price solution for our software development, which makes it easier to control our budgets, schedules, and product quality, and helps us get new models into the market in a rapid timeframe,” said Oliver Sher, R&D Department AVP, Unitech Electronics. “Intrinsyc’s expertise in power management provided a valuable advantage in the automatic identification and data capture market, where customers say long battery life is a critical feature. Their engineers required minimal support from Unitech, while giving us value-added services like telephony solutions consulting, product integration support, and even hardware debugging.”

“Unitech Electronics recognizes that our Solution Engineering is a cost-effective and reliable way to speed their time to market while enhancing product performance and quality,” said David Manuel, Vice President & General Manager Solutions Engineering, Intrinsyc. “For this project, we leveraged our deep expertise in Windows Mobile and Windows Embedded CE technologies, particularly in data communications and power management functions.”

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
