L A Mayor’s Gang Million$ Controlled By Anonymous Committee? Full Disclosure Video News Blog (11 min)
Los Angeles, CA. A December 23, 2008 report in the L A Weekly publication, written by Daniel Heimpel, Investigative Journalist, reveals that L.A. Mayor Villaraigosa’s new gang prevention and intervention program is going to protect the identity of fifty individuals who will remain anonymous due to fear of retaliation. Watch an eleven minute video featuring Heimpel, L.A. Deputy Mayor Rev. Jeff Carr and Full Disclosure Network® host Leslie Dutton here: http://www.fulldisclosure.net/Blogs/65.php
REPORTER REVEALS DETAILS OF INTERVIEW
In the video Heimpel describes his interview with Rev. Jeff Carr, the L. A Deputy Mayor depicting the Gang Czar’s response to questions raised about the unusual procedures being used the Mayor’s office to select the grant recipients. The video also features Carr who tells Full Disclosure “over $20 million in taxpayer dollars will be dispersed to non profit gang organizations.” According to Heimpel, the non-disclosure of who is seleting the organization to receive grants, appears “fishy” and avoids the transparency required of government officials.
FEAR & DANGER REQUIRE PROTECTIVE MEASURES:
The individuals charged with deciding which gangs will get generous city grants for grassroots activity could face danger of retaliation from gangs, according to Heimpel’s account of the interview with the gang czar. When Full Disclosure Network, interviewed L A Deputy Mayor-Gang Czar earlier, he described how gangs who are threatening violence will be confronted by former gang members and other gang workers on the streets, where they feel violence is about to erupt. Only the high violence areas of the City are targeted.
REDEEMED GANG MEMBERS
In this eleven minute exclusive video news blog Rev. Carr describes the mayor’s gang program and the prevention and intervention strategies. He reassures Full Disclosure that the young adults working in the program would include persons who have been redeemed after having been incarcerated.
