Indian Software Development Company Secured with Juniper Firewall, IDP and Remote Access SSL VPN Solutions

SUNNYVALE, Calif., January 26, 2006 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced that Persistent Systems Pvt. Ltd., a leading software product development company and one of India’s fastest growing technology companies, has deployed a comprehensive suite of firewall, intrusion detection and prevention (IDP) and secure SSL VPN remote access solutions from Juniper Networks to protect its infrastructure.

Persistent Systems deployed the Juniper Networks NetScreen-204 and NetScreen-208 firewall appliances to protect branch offices on its metro Ethernet-based network. The company also implemented the Juniper Networks ISG 1000 and a Juniper Networks Secure Access SSL VPN appliance to provision secure remote access to corporate resources.

The Juniper Networks NetScreen-204 and NetScreen-208 firewalls are among the most versatile security appliances available today, easily integrating into many different environments, including medium-to-large enterprise networks, offices, e-business sites, data centers and carrier infrastructures. The firewall appliances utilize Juniper’s proven ScreenOS to deliver firewall functions at LAN speeds, and even the most computationally intense applications, such as 3DES and AES encryption, are performed at high speeds. In addition to physical interface density, the firewall appliances optionally support virtualization, including VLAN support and additional custom security zones and virtual routers.

The ISG 1000 is a fully integrated FW/VPN/IDP system with gigabit performance, a modular architecture, and rich virtualization capabilities. The base FW/VPN system comes with four fixed 10/100/1000 interfaces and two additional I/O modules for interface expansion.

Juniper’s Secure Access SSL VPN solution provides a cost-effective way for Persistent Systems to deploy remote access to its corporate network for employees, business partners and customers, and because it uses SSL to provide encrypted transport, users can achieve anywhere, anytime remote access from a Web browser. This clientless architecture eliminates the high cost of installing, configuring, and maintaining client software on every device, significantly reducing the total cost of ownership for Persistent Systems’ versus traditional VPN solutions.
