BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Consumers who unwrapped a new wireless phone this holiday season can continue the giving spirit by donating their no-longer-used wireless phones to Verizon Wireless’ HopeLine® phone recycling program.

Verizon Wireless makes it convenient for customers to donate their old wireless phones to HopeLine and make a difference in the lives of domestic violence victims. The company collects no-longer-used wireless phones, batteries and accessories in any condition, from any wireless service provider, at its 2,600 Communications Stores nationwide.

Proceeds from phones collected by HopeLine will be used to provide wireless phones to survivors of domestic violence who are rebuilding their lives or cash grants to local shelters and non-profit organizations that focus on domestic violence prevention and awareness.

HopeLine is Verizon Wireless’ exclusive year-round phone recycling and reuse program. Since 2001, HopeLine has collected more than 5.5 million phones; awarded more than $6 million in cash grants to domestic violence agencies and organizations throughout the country; and has donated more than 80,000 HopeLine phones with 240 million minutes of airtime to victims, survivors and domestic violence organizations.
