Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) is pleased to announce that the Company is the recipient of the Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) Corporate Leader of the Year Award. JAG is a national nonprofit organization that works to keep young people in school and provides work-based learning opportunities.

The award was presented by Senator Thomas Carper of Delaware during JAG’s Leadership Awards Luncheon, held December 4 in Washington, D.C. Michael D’Ambrose, senior vice president, Human Resources, accepted the award on behalf of ADM. More than 600 guests, including business leaders, legislators and students attended the luncheon.

“On the short list of America’s great corporations that have made helping young people succeed in school and on the job, and especially those facing special challenges in their lives, few have matched the remarkable commitments of ADM,” said Carper. “For decades, the company has quietly, but dramatically, invested in the rural youth of America through a wide variety of scholarship programs and opportunities for training and employment in locations where, often, the opportunities for education and good quality jobs are few or nonexistent.”

“On behalf of ADM, we are truly honored to receive this award and for the opportunity to serve alongside you and build awareness that education is vital to unlocking the potential in all of us to improve the quality of life,” said D’Ambrose.

The Corporate Leader of the Year Award is given in years that a corporation stands out for its sustained commitment to the work of JAG with investments in young people and education. ADM received the award for the Company’s ongoing commitment to JAG, as well as for providing resources to establish JAG in Decatur, Illinois, schools where the Company is headquartered, and for engaging other local corporations to support JAG.

Established in 1980, Jobs for America’s Graduates is a school-to-career program in middle schools, high schools, alternative schools and community colleges across the country. JAG’s mission is to keep young people in school through graduation and provide work-based learning experiences that will lead to career advancement opportunities or to enroll in a postsecondary institution that leads to a rewarding career.
