Orange presents an interactive advertising pilot over the TV for Citroën at the Méribel Ad Festival

WEBWIRE

Orange has run the first interactive advertising trial over the TV ADSL network in France. The pilot campaign for Citroën broadcasted interactive advertising options on the Orange Sport Info channel for Citroën’s C5 from 4 November to 14 December 2008.

Interactive advertising displays a banner during an advert. Viewers are invited to click on the banner using their remote control; they are then taken to the advertiser’s interactive mini site featuring additional, entertaining information about the product, such as:

* A product presentation including pictures and videos (demonstrations, interviews)
* An option to request a contact, a brochure, a test drive
* A list of stores distributing the product, with their contact details.

This Citroën C5 pilot involved more than 100,000 households subscribing to Orange TV. Orange aims to roll-out the interactive advertising service across Orange TV during the first half of 2009.

The “Audience and advertising” activity is one of the main new growth areas for Orange. Thanks to its knowledge of the Internet, proximity to customers and sheer audience reach across three screens, Orange is able to innovate and deliver integrated advertising solutions. In France, Orange, through its advertising agency, reaches 7 surfers out of 10. In Europe, it offers advertisers a relay service in more than 30 European countries with a potential audience of 160 million individual visitors.
