IP PBXs Now the Preferred Choice of US Businesses

WEBWIRE

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., January 24, 2006 – US businesses have moved beyond experimenting with IP solutions to incorporating them into the fabric of their voice and data network strategies, reports In-Stat (http://www.in-stat.com). Many businesses have realized tangible benefits from IP deployments and are increasingly expanding them, the high-tech market research firm says. According to In-Stat’s “Voice and Networking Trends 2005” survey, traditional PBX and key systems integration has stagnated, while IP solutions have gained favor over the last year.

“Future purchase plans indicate a hastening shift to IP solutions, particularly in the small business market, where IP-enabled and IP-based purchase plans are nearly double that of traditional PBX or Key Systems,” says David Lemelin, In-Stat analyst.

A recent report by In-Stat found the following:

- Because IP alternatives are relatively new, many businesses are using multiple solutions to determine how IP can best be incorporated in their organizations.
- The use of IP solutions now nearly rivals use of TDM PBX or Centrex solutions.
- 20% of respondents use multiple IP solutions, with a combination of IP-enabled and IP-based solutions being the most popular mix of alternatives.
- Customers are expecting IP alternatives to be pervasive enough that they can rely on a wide range of channel partners to help them with their integration and maintenance needs.

The report, “Reaching a Crescendo: The IP PBX Market” (#IN0501849BD), covers the market for IP PBX solutions among US businesses. The report includes data collected from In-Stat’s “Voice and Networking trends 2005” survey. It also provides insight into what is motivating buyers to purchase the technology, and how vendors can satisfy market demands.
