Kuoni named world’s best tour operator for the tenth time

The Kuoni Group has earned the distinction of World’s Leading Tour Operator – the tenth time it has done so – at the finals of the 2008 World Travel Awards. In securing this latest title, the Swiss-based tour operator has further underlined its prime position in the global leisure travel market.

“This distinction is a clear confirmation of both the high regard in which Kuoni is held and the correctness of our present corporate course,” says Max E. Katz, CFO and speaker of the Kuoni Group Executive Board. “With its modern and global brand-based business alignment and its new product lines, Kuoni has shown a fine appreciation of today’s market needs and is leading the way to a new travel culture.”

The annual World Travel Awards, which were established in 1993, are one of the most important series of distinctions within the travel and tourism sector, and are based on the input of some 167 000 industry specialists from all over the globe. This year’s World Travel Awards ceremony was held on the Turks & Caicos Islands in the Caribbean on 2 December 2008.

In addition to this prestigious award, Kuoni UK are delighted to have received many other consumer and trade accolades in the past year. This includes being voted ‘Britain’s favourite’ by the readers of The Sunday Times Travel Magazine, The Daily Mail and The Daily Telegraph’s Ultratravel Magazine. In addition, for the past 26 years, Kuoni have also been recognised by travel agents as ‘Britain’s Best Longhaul Tour Operator’.
