Flexible IT services for improved business efficiency

Essen, Germany, Atos Origin, an international information technology services company and the E-Plus Group, Germany’s third-largest mobile telecommunications provider and a subsidiary of KPN, today announce the renewal of their IT outsourcing agreement for a further five years. Atos Origin will provide the IT services for 21 business processes including IT infrastructure and application development services.

An innovative IT Outsourcing approach
Atos Origin and the E-Plus Group decided together to move from a ‘classic’ IT-Outsourcing to a ‘Flexible IT’ contract to further strengthen the customer-supplier relationship and to enable the E-Plus Group to respond faster to changing business needs. Within the new ‘Flexible IT’ contract, Atos Origin is taking over the end-to-end responsibility for 21 business processes from Retail Postpaid Order Management through to Retail Postpaid Billing and Interconnect Billing and will be paid for the services that it delivers rather than a cost agreed upfront. For example, in the case of retail postpaid order management, Atos Origin’s fees are based on the number of new E-Plus postpaid contracts.

“Many companies talk about flexible IT; we are implementing it“, says Thomas Weber, IT Director of E-Plus. ”Under the new contract, IT will provide a real contribution to business results and the E-Plus Group can continue to concentrate on its core competence, for example its successful brands and the individual customer support".

“We are delighted that the E-Plus Group has renewed its trust in Atos Origin as its strategic IT partner. Since 2004, we have been supporting them as they adapt to fast-paced business changes ”, says Winfried Holz, CEO of Atos Origin in Germany and Central Europe. “Today, we are working with them to ensure that their IT strategy remains closely aligned to their business and will deliver new and innovative solutions where it will help them to meet their objectives faster.”

Extension of this deal highlights the longstanding successful business relationship
Atos Origin has been working with the E-Plus Group since 2004, when it signed an IT Outsourcing agreement to take over the IT operations and to manage the IT infrastructure and applications. Since the start of the cooperation, Atos Origin has helped the E-Plus Group to significantly reduce costs and to continually improve service, so that today the desktop support service scores consistently over 90%.
