CHI Geneva - Credit Suisse Supports Equestrian Sports in French-Speaking Switzerland.

Geneva.-This is the first year in which Credit Suisse will be both main sponsor of the International Show Jumping tournament in Geneva - CHI - and title sponsor of the Credit Suisse Grand Prix. The bank is also committed to supporting the Jockey Club and the associated national qualifying competitions. The 48th annual CHI Geneva will take place from December 11 - 14, 2008 at Geneva Palexpo. A three-year partnership until 2010 has been agreed with the event organizer.

The CHI in Geneva attracts crowds of equestrian enthusiasts. As a stage of the Rolex FEI World Cup in show jumping, the tournament in Geneva includes prestigious competitions such as the Credit Suisse Grand Prix, which counts towards the global ranking of the riders and allows them to qualify for the Rolex FEI World Cup on the Sunday afternoon. This year, the horsemen have an additional reason to shine during the Credit Suisse Grand Prix - the four (or more) best, non-prequalified riders will participate in the 1st Champions’ Challenge© on the Saturday evening.

As in equestrianism, success in banking can only be achieved through mutual trust and precision teamwork. This shared characteristic forms the basis for Credit Suisse’s long-standing commitment to equestrian sports. In White Turf and the CHI, Credit Suisse supports two internationally renowned events, the latter of which rounds out the bank’s sponsorship commitment in French-speaking Switzerland. “It is very important for us to have a presence in all regions of Switzerland. When the opportunity arose to support the CHI in Geneva, we grasped it with both hands, as to us it represents a very valuable commitment to French-speaking Switzerland,” explains Sandra Caviezel, Head of Sports Sponsorship at Credit Suisse’s Private Banking division.
