Medtronic to Showcase Latest Aortic Repair Technology at International Vascular Surgery Meeting in New York

WEBWIRE

Following an unprecedented year of advances in the field of endovascular aortic repair (EVAR), Medtronic, Inc. (NYSE: MDT), will showcase at the international VEITHsymposium™ its recently-expanded portfolio and robust pipeline of stent grafts and delivery systems, including:

* Talent™ Abdominal and Thoracic Stent Grafts
* Xcelerant® and Xcelerant Hydro Delivery Systems

Recently approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Talent Stent Grafts expand the indications for EVAR and thereby are expected to allow physicians to treat more patients. The Xcelerant Delivery Systems enable improved deliverability and controlled deployment for accurate stent graft placement within the aorta.

“These advances both aid physicians and expand the number of patients with aortic aneurysms that they are able to treat,” said Tony Semedo, vice president and general manager of Endovascular Innovations at Medtronic.

“We remain committed to extending our legacy of leadership by continuing to provide more advanced EVAR products so that no patient is denied the benefits of a minimally-invasive option for aortic repair.”

The 35th annual VEITHsymposium™ takes place Nov. 19–23 at the New York Hilton. Numerous scientific sessions reporting the latest data on Medtronic’s aortic repair technology will be supported by key events at the Medtronic pavilion:
