Rumors of War Zuda

WEBWIRE

Rumors of War, scripted by Justin Jordan and illustrated by John Bivens, is a horror comic about the endless nightmare of war: Saving Private Ryan, if it were written by H.P. Lovecraft and directed by David Cronenberg.

Rumors of War has been selected as a finalist in the November competition at Zuda, the webcomics arm of DC Comics, publishers of iconic characters Batman and Superman.

When a young WWI soldier who dies on the battlefield, he finds that his story is only beginning. Resurrected by arcane science, he finds himself pressed into service in a war that he can’t even hope to understand.

His allies are horrors, scavenging the weak and the dead for more bodies with which to feed the war effort. The enemy is even worse: a nightmare of living war machines and endless ranks birthed by monstrous mothers. The factions are beyond good and evil, right and wrong. The war has no end; no point beyond the humiliation of the enemy.

Promised a ticket home if he can complete a suicide mission deep into the enemy’s territory, the soldier will fight horrors beyond imagination. But what will he have to become in order to survive?
