Active Directory-Based Automated Provisioning and Ease-of-use Enhancements Speed Enterprise-wide Deployment and Maximize Return-on-Investment from MFT

Arlington, VA. – Group Logic, a leading provider of Managed File Transfer (MFT) solutions, today introduced MassTransit 6.0. The latest generation of Group Logic’s industry-leading MFT software adds more than a dozen features to the product which dramatically improve management and reporting, ease-of-use and integration for key business and IT processes within the enterprise. MassTransit 6.0 also delivers enhanced performance and security features to further solidify its position as the standard for MFT technology.

“Companies are realizing that they cannot tolerate unmanaged, unsecured and inefficient file transfer processes anymore,” said L. Frank Kenney, Research Director with Gartner. “Managing the movement of valuable, data-intensive assets is a strategic business-imperative, and companies will look to comprehensive managed file transfer solutions that bring management, security, efficiency and auditing.”

MassTransit 6.0 provides a powerful solution for business management and IT personnel looking to accelerate the delivery of managed file transfer benefits to their enterprises. Using the product’s automated, Active Directory-based user provisioning capabilities, administrators can quickly and easily configure a web site through which any AD-based user can access to send files to anyone in the organization. To send files, users simply browse to the MassTransit web site log-in with their domain credentials – or bypass log-in through Single Sign-On (SSO). Recipients of files receive e-mails they can simply click to access and download files. Because credentials and file exchange privileges are automatically managed by Active Directory on an ongoing basis, customers are ensured that file transfers adhere to corporate governance policies and the IT support burden is minimized.

A recent Group Logic study suggests that, while most companies have yet to deploy a managed file transfer solution, a significant number – one in five of those surveyed – plan to implement such a technology by the end of 2009. The survey of nearly 300 respondents uncovered a wide range of problems and pains associated with today’s file transfer processes, including slow transfer rates, a high burden of system management, and security and compliance concerns.

“The nature of our worldwide catalog business requires that we work under aggressive deadlines and send data-intensive content and digital files almost hourly or daily to our photographers and partners globally,” said Neil McCutcheon, Director of Catalog Production with Christies. “We cannot afford for projects or activities to be delayed due to bottlenecked files on the network. MassTransit gives us the transparency and tools we need to manage the file transfer process across our entire supply chain.”

Additional features new to MassTransit 6.0 include:

* New reporting and analytics tools to gain business insight into system performance, usage, load and errors, as well as view and measure expectations on volume, performance and trends

* Performance and health monitoring interfaces allow IT personnel to reduce downtime and deliver on expectations by managing MassTransit with common enterprise solutions including Microsoft Operations Manager

* An updated set of APIs and integration tools including SOAP/web services interfaces with documentation

* Enhanced performance and scalability, particularly for customers with thousands of users and file transfer volumes of millions per month

MassTransit 6.0 is available immediately as a paid upgrade. Licensed MassTransit 5.0 users who have an active support contract with upgrade protection can obtain the upgrade at no additional cost.
