IGLOO® PLUS FPGA wins the Digital IC and Programmable Logic Category; Libero® IDE v8.1 selected in the Development Tool and Software Category

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — Actel Corporation announced that two of its innovations for power-conscious designs have won two top awards in the prestigious 2008 EDN China Innovation Awards. The winners:

* IGLOO PLUS, Actel’s family of nonvolatile low-power field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) featuring the industry’s best power-, area-, logic- and feature-per-I/O ratios in a programmable device, won the Leading Product Award in the Digital IC and Programmable Logic category.
* Actel’s Libero Integrated Design Environment (IDE) v8.1 won the Leading Products Award in the Development Tool and Software category. Libero features a power-driven layout that enables designers to further optimize designs to reduce dynamic power consumption by as much as 30 percent for a typical design.

“We are honored that the readers of EDN China selected Actel products for top awards for the fourth consecutive year,” said Rick Lain, Actel Asia-Pacific sales director. “Increasingly, designers around the world are acknowledging that power matters whether they are designing at the chip level, or the system level. We are pleased that EDN China and its readers have recognized Actel’s significant contribution in addressing these challenges by providing industry-leading products such as IGLOO PLUS and Libero IDE.”

Products were assessed and selected by a panel of EDN China judges, consisting of industry experts and specialists from China’s leading OEM companies, academic institutes, universities and the EDN China’s editorial board. Readers and registered users of EDN China were invited to vote for the winners in various categories. Actel received its awards November 6 at the annual EDN China Innovation Awards ceremony held in Shenzhen, Southern China.
