Major Midwest salon franchise LA Tan to offer ETS Tan’s FDA-cleared, medically proven light therapy spa bed

INDIANAPOLIS (Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008) – A major Midwest salon franchise has aggressive plans to offer its customers the industry’s first FDA-cleared light therapy product that’s medically proven to firm and rejuvenate skin and improve a variety of skin disorders.

Lincolnwood, Ill.-based LA Tan has just announced it will be offering the Rejuvasun with Omnilux by ETS Tan, a spa bed that features light therapy panels that mirror medical-grade technology used by thousands of dermatologists and plastic surgeons around the world.

“Our salon staff just completed an extensive training session conducted by ETS Tan and is extremely excited about offering this new skin rejuvenation product to our customers,” said LA Tan owner Nick Patel. “We look forward to expanding our customer base with this new service and addressing the needs of our existing customers.”

LA Tan took delivery of its first few spa beds last week but that’s just the start, Patel said. “My goal is to offer this incredible product at each of our LA Tan locations,” he said.

LA Tan operates 145 salons in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina and Florida.

The Rejuvasun with Omnilux is a commercial-grade spa bed that gives users the option to experience face and neck light therapy treatments alone, all-body tanning alone or combine light therapy treatments with tanning in one 20-minute session. The non-invasive light therapy technology uses visible red LED’s at 633 nanometer wavelengths and invisible, near-infrared LED’s at 830 nanometer wavelengths – a medically proven combination for skin improvement – to stimulate the body’s natural production of collagen.

According to clinical studies, after just 12 weeks of treatments nearly 84 percent of users reported improved skin tone and quality while nearly 74 percent reported visible reductions of fine lines and wrinkles. Some users experienced clearer, smoother complexion, lighter age and sun spots, diminished crows feet, tightened sagging skin and an increased production of collagen and elastin while others noticed a significant improvement in skin conditions including acne, psoriasis and eczema.

Today’s salon and day spa customers are searching for convenient, affordable and non-invasive beautification services under one roof, Patel said, and since April, when ETS Tan debuted the Rejuvasun with Omnilux, LA Tan customers at several locations have been asking if the spa bed would be available to them.

At LA Tan locations, light therapy treatments in the Rejuvasun with Omnilux will be available for as little as $38 a treatment for members when they buy a Skin Rejuvenation package, which Patel says is a significant savings compared to similar light therapy treatments provided by dermatologists, day spas and estheticians.

LA Tan acquired its first stores in 2001 and later began franchising to become one of the largest salon franchises in the country. LA Tan salons predominantly feature ETS Tan indoor tanning beds and Australian Gold tanning lotions and accessories.
