Juniper Networks Secure Access SSL VPN Named Best Technology of the Year by InfoWorld

WEBWIRE

SUNNYVALE, Calif., January 10, 2006 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced that the Juniper Networks Secure Access (SA) 5000 SSL VPN won InfoWorld magazine’s Best Technology of the Year Award. The awards round up was published in the January 2, 2006 issue of InfoWorld, and can be found online at www.infoworld.com/reports/01SRtoy06.html.

InfoWorld’s annual Technology of the Year Awards identify significant technologies of the past year that promise to make the greatest impact on enterprise IT strategies, and honor the products that best exemplify the implementation of those technologies. The Technology of the Year Award winners are selected by InfoWorld’s Test Center analysts and editors.

In March 2005, InfoWorld’s Test Center analysts and editors named the Secure Access 5000 as the overall industry leader in the magazine’s SSL VPN product comparison review titled “SSL VPNs Come of Age.” The SSL VPN appliances were tested in five categories: security, interoperability, scalability, setup and value. The Secure Access 5000 outperformed five of the industries leading secure sockets layer virtual private network (SSL VPN) appliances with an “excellent” rating. The competitive lab review can be found at: www.infoworld.com/article/05/02/04/06FEsslvpn_1.html.

The Secure Access SSL VPN appliances lead the market, with form factors and features tailored to meet the remote access, extranet, and intranet security needs of companies of all sizes. The use of SSL, the security protocol found in all standard Web browsers, eliminates the need for client-software deployment, changes to internal servers, and costly ongoing desktop maintenance and support. The Secure Access SSL VPN appliances combine the overall benefit of a lower total cost of ownership over traditional IPSec client solutions for remote access and software-based extranet/intranet security solutions.
