Visitors will also be able to learn about on demand software solutions supporting HD content and see TANDBERG Television’s new HD program transcoder which enables programmers to harness the bandwidth efficiencies of MPEG-4 AVC HD and DVB-S2 satellite distribution. Demonstration areas include:

Contribution and Distribution
This demonstration area provides an overview of MPEG-4 AVC and MPEG-2 solutions. Used by major broadcasters and service providers, TANDBERG Television’s contribution and distribution systems are available with either DVB-S2 satellite modulators or telecom adapters. For larger systems, the company’s suite of management products simplifies the configuration and control of the TANDBERG compression equipment, ensuring mission critical services remain on air.

End-to-End Director Solution Featuring MPEG-4 AVC Compression Technology
TANDBERG Television’s Director Control System offers an advanced software-based system for conditional access (CA) that controls and authorizes individual and banks of receivers across sites under maximum security. Director updates both MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 AVC SD and HD receivers using over-the-air downloads of the latest software code, without requiring site visits. The end-to-end Director solution includes many of the latest TANDBERG technologies that work together to enhance the overall quality and operational ease of the system. These include MPEG-4 AVC HD encoders, Reflex™ statistical multiplexing, and DVB-S2 modulation with PREKOR™ for greater bandwidth efficiency. Demonstrations in this area will also showcase the latest decryption, transcoding and decoding technology, including the new RX8250 Program Transcoder.

On Demand Solutions for HD Content
The world’s leading broadcasters, network operators and content owners use TANDBERG Television’s open software solutions to create, manage, deliver and monetize advanced media and on-demand solutions across ’Any Platform to Any Device’’.
