Wholesale Chess Donates 110 Chess Sets to Soldiers
Wholesale Chess, an internet retailer that specializes in chess sets and equipment, announced the results of a Memorial Day Weekend special aimed at bringing the joy of chess to the troops serving in Iraq.
“This spring we noticed that many military personnel visited our website to purchase chess sets and equipment for use in both combat and non-combat zones,” said Lyndia Graham, manager of Wholesale Chess. “We wanted to increase the number of chess sets available to our troops, and decided to involve our regular customers and members in the process.”
The online retailer of chess sets and equipment held a special Memorial Day promotion and 5% of all members and customers’ purchases at Wholesale Chess during that week were used to send a donation of 110 chess sets to the troops serving in Iraq.
“Chess is a great stress reliever in that it takes a person’s mind off their problems while they concentrate on the game. It also offers numerous life lessons,” Graham said. She then added, “Wouldn’t it be great if all of life’s battles could be fought over a chess board?”
Wholesale Chess is the #1 Chess Web Store providing chess sets, boards, pieces, clocks, software, DVDs, computers and all other chess equipment to retailers, clubs, schools and chess enthusiasts around the world.
