Ireland’s RTÉNL Chooses Harris Corporation’s Zandar Predator II Multiviewer Solution for Network Monitoring Centre Expansion

WINNERSH, England. — Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has installed four Zandar™ Predator II™ multiviewers at broadcast transmission company RTÉ Transmission Network Ltd (RTÉNL). The installation supports the expansion of RTÉNL’s Network Monitoring Centre (NMC) in Dublin, Ireland.

RTÉNL needed to significantly increase the number of displays it could monitor simultaneously in its NMC to support additional upcoming services, such as DTT and DAB. To achieve this, RTÉNL chose to replace the existing infrastructure, a combination of TV screens and VDU monitors, with a scalable multiviewer solution built around four Predator II HD32 multiviewers that are driving four 57-inch displays. This setup allows RTÉNL to monitor up to 128 sources and provides a combination of redundancy and scalable display capacity. The multiviewer solution is used to display off-air analogue TV and DTT services from some of the RTÉNL transmitter sites, as well as to visualize spectrum analyzer and digital PPM information.
