PALO ALTO, Calif., Jan. 4, 2006, HP today announced that it has appointed Andy W. Mattes, a long-time executive at Siemens AG, to serve as the head of sales for the Technology Solutions Group (TSG).

Mattes will serve as senior vice president and chief sales officer, a new role created following last year’s dissolution of the Customer Solutions Group. He will report to Ann Livermore, executive vice president of TSG.

Mattes, 44, joins HP after 20 years at Siemens AG, where he held various sales and management positions. Since May 2004, he served as president and chief executive officer of Siemens Communications, Inc., the U.S. arm of Siemens Communications, which delivers a broad portfolio of communication products and services for wireless, fixed and enterprise networks. While in this role, Mattes also served as a member of the Group Board of Siemens Communication Group, the global governing board of the communications group.

“Andy is a strong business professional with deep experience building and managing successful sales organizations,” said Livermore. “His global business expertise, combined with his customer and partner relationships, makes him a great addition to the HP team.”
