Online Video Editing Technology Enables Fans to “Re-Cut” Their Favorite Plays at NFL.com

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) and the National Football League (NFL) today announced the launch of the NFL.com Replay Re-Cutter powered by Adobe® Premiere® Express, a Web-based video remix and editing technology. The NFL.com Replay Re-Cutter allows fans to easily edit and remix video highlights of their favorite plays, players and teams throughout the season. The NFL.com Replay Re-Cutter is available immediately for free at www.nfl.com/re-cutter . Adobe Premiere Express is a lightweight, Adobe Flash®-based Web application that opens directly in the browser and does not require plug-ins or special software downloads.

“With so many people living life online, television no longer dictates when the game day celebration ends,” said Doug Mack, vice president and general manager of Consumer and Hosted Solutions at Adobe. “We’re excited to be working with NFL.com to bring a fun, engaging and easy video editing experience to football fans so they can create their own ‘instant replays’ and favorite game time moments. Adobe Premiere Express allows us to deliver powerful technology within a simplified interface, introducing people to video editing they can quickly master — no experience required.”
Bringing Easy Video Editing to the Fans

Using content provided by the NFL including video clips, photos, graphics and audio, fans can instantly create their own personal highlight reel by just dragging and dropping content into a sceneline. Adobe Premiere Express technology allows clips and content to easily be reordered, trimmed, and split directly in the sceneline. Users can incorporate special effects such as blur, sepia and pixelate to add further impact to their videos. New videos will be uploaded by the NFL after each game in the season to ensure fresh “re-cuts” appear on the site on a regular basis.

“This is another exciting way for fans to interact with the NFL,” said Hans Schroeder, NFL vice president of media strategy. “Fans now have the power to create great, customized NFL content.”

In addition, Reality Digital — a hosted service platform for storing, sharing and managing user-generated content — enables the uploading and organization of weekly NFL game highlights from its 32 teams and provides the social networking component of the experience. NFL fans can share “re-cuts” with others who can view and rate them. Adobe Premiere Express Service (Reality Digital’s Opus Social Media Platform™ integrated with the Adobe Premiere Express product) fosters ongoing interaction between fans.
Leveraging Award-Winning Adobe Technology

Adobe Premiere Express is a Flash-based application built using Adobe Flex®, and delivers high quality video editing capabilities pioneered by Adobe Premiere Pro and Premiere Elements. Adobe’s Emmy Award winning Flash technology is the standard worldwide for delivering high-quality video experiences on the Web. According to comScore, an online audience measurement service, 82 percent of online videos in the U.S. and 73 percent of online videos worldwide are viewed using Adobe Flash technology, making it the number one format for video on the Web.
