Carrier and ECIDC Jointly Boost the Progress of Green Cause in China

Carrier Corp. has signed a “Memorandum of Friendly Cooperation” with the Energy Conservation Information Dissemination Center (ECIDC) to continue promoting the progress of energy saving and emission reduction in China Ross Shuster, president, Carrier Building Systems and Services (BSS) Asia, and Jim Gradoville, president, United Technologies International Operations (UTIO), led a seven-member delegation from Carrier Corp. during a recent visit to the ECIDC of National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). Carrier is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).

According to the memorandum, Carrier and ECIDC are dedicated to achieving close cooperation and will collaborate on technology, demonstration projects and training programs to drive the promotion of energy efficiency and emission reduction, as well as the application of green air-conditioning technologies and solutions for both new and retrofit buildings.

During the meeting, Wenke updated the Carrier delegation on the status of energy conservation and emission reduction efforts in China, and highlighted the abundant opportunities available for multi-national companies, like Carrier, that provide energy-efficient and environmentally responsible products and services. Shuster shared with the ECIDC government officials the successful history and business growth of UTC and Carrier in China. He also highlighted Carrier and UTC’s experience in providing innovative green building technologies and solutions.
