Kiwi Publishing Announces Winner of First Thin Threads® Inspirational Story Contest

(Woodbridge, CT) KIWI Publishing wishes to thank the thousands of people who have recounted life-changing moments for the first of a new book series entitled “THIN THREADS® – Stories of Life Changing Moments”. The winner of KIWI’s Thin Threads® story contest is Maris Franco of High Bridge, NJ. Ms. Franco’s story is entitled “The Tip” – about a beautiful every day opportunity for us to see times of frustration as true signs for the paths our lives are intended to take.

The Grand Prize Winner, Maris Franco, will receive a $500 cash prize and a matching $500 award will go to the author’s cause of choice, The Animal Welfare Federation of New Jersey. Many more stories will be chosen from the current pool of finalists to be included in the first edition of Kiwi’s Thin Threads® collection and the authors will receive a $100 cash award for every submission chosen for inclusion. Those finalists will be chosen and announced on September 29th.

The process of selecting the winner: After receiving thousands of stories, 150 stories were chosen by our five member review board. Those were further reviewed by our 15 member story review board, and results have just been compiled. The board consists of both female and male readers ranging from ages 17 to 65. KIWI - a book technology and content delivery company, has been collecting inspiring stories and working with authors from around the country to weave together the threads of the first edition of the Thin Threads® series.

According to the grand prize winner, Maris Franco “My story, ‘The Tip’ recalls moments in my life I have carried with me as reminders of the beauty which accompanies even the most troublesome of times. The Thin Threads Collection is an avenue by which we as readers are granted access into the lives of others and are then invited to use their lessons as our own. Thin Threads encourages us all to value the unfair, the undeservedly heartbreaking in life, recognizing such moments as vehicles to expedite the growth process. I am honored that my story has been chosen for inclusion in your collection and hope that my own experiences may inspire faith and determination in your readers.”

Thin Threads® is a collection of compelling stories about life-changing moments, tales of those moments that made all the difference, where a decision hangs in the balance and we are just holding on by a ‘thin thread’. These are the moments that change the course of a life and are not always recognized in the instance of their happening.
