Seagate Mirra Personal Server Named One of the Best Products of 2005 by PC Magazine

Plus, Seagate’s 400GB Pushbutton Back-up Hard Drive receives an Editors’ Choice Award with a 4.5 star rating

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif.—03 January 2006— Further strengthening its storage industry leadership, Seagate Technology (NYSE:STX) today announced that the Seagate Mirra Personal Server has been named as one of the Best Products of the Year by PC Magazine, the most important technology publication in the world, and the Seagate 400GB Pushbutton Back-up Hard Drive has earned an Editors’ Choice Award.

PC Magazine evaluated more than 1,300 products ranging from PCs, PDAs, and printers to office software, 3D games, and MP3 players in order to choose those worthy of the “The Best of the Year” title.

“In choosing this year’s best, we also had a chance to look back at our picks from last year and reflect upon the rapid growth and change in the technology landscape,” said Cade Metz, senior writer, PC Magazine. “Mobile devices, home networking products, and digital cameras are just a few areas that have taken developmental leaps as user adoption increases exponentially.”

PC Magazine praised the Seagate Mirra Personal Server as the best home back-up solution and stated that it “restores files from multiple PCs in your home network effortlessly.” PC Magazine also praises the products ease-of-use, “This server is a very good platform for home network backup, and its simplicity can’t be beat.”

Additionally, in the same issue of PC Magazine, the Seagate 400GB PushButton Backup Hard Drive was given an Editors’ Choice Award with a 4.5 star rating. The magazine notes that the product is “A convenient way to increase PC or sneakernet your data around the house or office, this drive is a very good addition indeed.”
