Program Part of Company’s Support as An Official Sponsor of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Teams

San Antonio, Texas, January 3, 2006, The new AT&T (NYSE: T) and USA Track & Field announced today that AT&T, as an Official Partner of USA Track & Field (USATF), will immediately begin providing significant financial support, products and services to aid in the training of America’s top track and field athletes. This partnership is in conjunction with the recently announced sponsorship by AT&T of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Teams.

AT&T will serve as the official telecommunications services partner of USA Track & Field through the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. With this sponsorship, AT&T becomes title sponsor of the USA Indoor Track & Field Championships (2006, 2007 and 2008) and the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships (2006 and 2007). AT&T will also serve as event sponsor for both the Nike Prefontaine Classic (2006, 2007 and 2008) and Penn Relays (2006, 2007 and 2008). And in 2008, AT&T will serve as a sponsor of the U.S. Olympic Team Trials — Track & Field.

AT&T will serve as the Official Telecommunications Services Partner of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Teams for the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Torino, Italy, that start on Feb. 10, 2006, and the 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Beijing.
