Whisky Lovers Indulge Their Adventurous Spirits

The ’Directors’ Cut’ is a bespoke service that promises to deliver the ultimate whisky experience to members of the Society. The offering will see the Society’s Directors, Paul Miles, Kai Ivalo and Anne Griffiths, get together every month to personally hand-pick a bottle from a selection of the very best single cask, single malt whisky.

The Society bottles around 20 different single casks each month and it can often be a task to identify which whiskies to buy from the widest range of single cask, single malts in the world. With the Directors’ Cut, members can truly indulge their spirit for adventure and take the opportunity to explore malts they may never have tried before. Designed to excite, and even surprise members, it guarantees to open eyes and dispel any preconceptions.

Paul Miles, managing director of the Society said: Whisky tasting can be a challenge and choosing between casks and can leave even the most knowledgeable whisky drinker spoilt for choice (even with the benefit of the Society’s tasting notes). The Directors’ Cut is an opportunity for us to offer our members a little taste of our whisky experience and share with them the unrivalled aromas and tastes that really excite us from each Society Bottling List"

The Directors Cut is an exclusive service to members of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. Members can tell the Society the amount they wish to spend per bottle, either £50 or £75. In addition after 12 months members will receive an extra bottle as a thank you - a great incentive to take part.

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society is a membership organisation which offers the widest selection of single cask, single malt whiskies in the world. The Society started 25 years ago when a group of discerning friends shared the price of a single cask of fine malt whisky. The aroma of the cask was wonderful and it tasted even better. It was the first of many!

Today the Society continues to bottle only single casks from a range of 125 malt whisky distilleries. Only the very best single cask, single malt whisky is selected, having been approved by the Society’s Tasting Panel.
