Adobe Announces Proliferation of Flash Enabled Products Across Consumer Electronics Industry
Macromedia Flash Now Shipped on More Than 45 Million Mobile Phones and Consumer Electronics Devices.
SAN JOSE, Calif. — Jan. 3, 2006 — Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq: ADBE) today announced that leading consumer electronics device manufacturers, including Kodak, Sony, iriver and MagicBox, Inc., are rapidly adopting Macromedia® Flash® technology to deliver customizable user interfaces, enhanced content and superior browsing experiences to end users. More than 45 million Flash technology-enabled mobile phones and consumer electronics devices, including televisions, media players, set-top boxes, digital billboards, cameras, educational toys, car navigation systems and more, have shipped worldwide.
Adobe also announced today Macromedia Flash Lite™ 2 software and Macromedia Flash Player SDK 7 (see separate release), essential technologies that enable OEMs, consumer electronics device manufacturers and operators to provide rich user interfaces and ensure consistent consumer experiences across devices, operating systems, processors and screen sizes.

Recently introduced, the KODAK EASYSHARE-ONE -- a Wi-Fi consumer digital camera -- combines the power of sharing, taking, organizing, and printing pictures into a single product that optimizes viewing and operation via its unique Flash technology-based touch screen and graphical menus.

Sony is leveraging the innovations in Flash to bring the VAIO product line to the living room with their Life Flow application. Life Flow is a dashboard application that aggregates content such as music, photos, weather and RSS feeds, through an innovative user experience for easy consumption.

iriver incorporated Flash Lite in the release of its U10 Series portable music players this fall, with a Flash technology-based user interface.

MagicBox premiered the Aavelin Digital Signage system integrated with Macromedia Flash technology and DirectSUITE™. MagicBox DirectSUITE brings together advertising and corporate directory solutions for HDTV displays.
