TORONTO – Flat Wireless, a limited liability company (LLC) doing business as Cleartalk in Texas, has deployed a CDMA network from Nortel* [NYSE/TSX: NT ] to deliver high quality, mobile communications to customers with flat-rate voice plans, unlimited services like text messaging, long-distance calling and web surfing. With the new network, Cleartalk will now be able to extend their unlimited services to customers in Amarillo and Lubbock.


With Nortel’s versatile solution, Cleartalk ** can deliver these popular services to new markets in both rural and highly populated areas of Texas to take advantage of its recently acquired Advanced Wireless Services ** (AWS) spectrum. The CDMA network is capable of supporting the growing subscriber demands in these markets with superior performance and low total cost of ownership.

Cleartalk is operating a high capacity network that delivers crystal clear voice to their subscribers using Nortel’s new ATCA-based Packet Mobile Switching Centre to provide a versatile suite of voice and data services. The new network also uses Nortel’s high-density Media Gateway 15000 , providing Cleartalk with a single platform to deliver best-in-class voice service by integrating voice quality improvement features directly into the IP-enabled voice path, yielding operational simplicity and low cost of ownership.

The network also includes Nortel’s industry leading Enhanced Base Station Controller and Base Stations that are designed and built with unique innovations in Power Amplifiers and Transceivers. This technology provides significant reductions in power consumption creating a more cost-effective and environmentally friendly network. The network will operate in the 1.7/2.1 GHz frequency of Cleartalk’s recently acquired AWS spectrum.
