WEBWIRE

EAGAN, Minn., Aug. 2008 – LiveNote is the legal profession’s most widely used litigation support software for transcript and evidence management. Continuing to provide innovative features that help lawyers be more efficient and competitive, LiveNote has released a new version of its popular software – West LiveNote Version 1.

LiveNote customers will see an updated, streamlined interface, new functions that help users find information fast and intuitively, and new features that make daily workflow easier and more productive.

Updated, streamlined interface. A fresh start to the user interface – users can quickly locate desired features in consolidated menu bars; access specific information through a streamlined folder structure; view and navigate open transcripts and exhibits with a click; easily follow communications activity among team members; and more easily manage issues and create, edit and preview annotations.

Enhanced functionality. Litigators will be able to locate information more quickly using the improved search dialog, which utilizes Westlaw terms and connectors. Also, users can now annotate exhibit text, filter annotation reports by user, and insert key quotes from depositions into document drafts with a new “send to Word” function.

Added features. Users will enjoy new features in West LiveNote, including adoption of RealLegal Binder’s exhibit capabilities; introduction of a native e-transcript format that allows the court reporter’s electronic signature to be viewed and printed; the ability to import RealLegal Publisher bundles, and then search across all imported exhibits; and enhanced overall performance from a new Microsoft SQL database.

“It’s not just a new version of the software,” said Steve Priem, vice president of Litigation for West, part of Thomson Reuters. “We’re solidifying the value that West and LiveNote bring together as two leaders in the legal industry. The advantages of this new version are greater than any new version we’ve released in the past; it truly feels like we’re bringing a brand new product to market.”

West LiveNote Version 1 will be featured at the International Legal Technology Association annual educational meeting Aug. 25-28 in Dallas, Texas. For more information, visit http://west.thomson.com/livenote.
