BooksOnBoard Launches “Read Along With Your Audio Book” Program, Bundles MP3s With eBooks

To launch its “Read Along With Your Audio Book” Program, BooksOnBoard is offering select titles in MP3 format with the eBooks for less than the list price of one audio book.

Bundles are comprised of bestselling MP3 and eBook titles, including The Elf Queen of Shannara by Terry Brooks, Black Powder War by Naomi Novik, Simply Perfect by Mary Balogh, Cat & Mouse by James Patterson, The Age of Turbulence by Alan Greenspan, Kiss Me, Kill Me by Ann Rule, and A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle, which soared to the top of the bestseller lists after being featured in Oprah’s Book Club.

“A surprising number of customers have requested this bundle combo,” according to BooksOnBoard CEO Bob LiVolsi. “They tell us they some times read along and some times go back and forth between audio book and ebook, depending on where they are. A person might read an eBook in bed the night before. Then, when they drive to work in the morning, they can listen to the same book while sitting in traffic.”

DRM-free MP3 audio books, which arrived at BooksOnBoard in July, are easy to transfer to MP3 players such as iPods and iPhones. They require no additional conversion after download.

“I read much faster than an audio book can playback, but I’m not always where I can focus my eyes on the page,” said Nathan Johnson, Director of Operations at BooksOnBoard. “With this BooksOnBoard Bundle, I get both options.
