Online brokerage firm will be local resource for education, customer support
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill.– Scottrade, a leading branch-supported online investment firm, will be the first online brokerage firm to open a branch office in Edwardsville, Ill. On Monday, Aug. 25 Scottrade will open a branch at 6655 Edwardsville Crossing in the Dierbergs Shopping Plaza.
Scottrade’s Edwardsville branch will provide the community with a local resource for financial education and customer support. At the branch, customers can learn more about online trading as well as tools and stock research to help them invest online.
The firm’s second Metro East location will be managed by Eddie Lusk, who began his Scottrade career as a stock broker at the company’s National Service Center in St. Louis. Lusk is a Collinsville, Ill. native and an alumnus of Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.
“Since starting my career at Scottrade, one of my goals has been to manage a branch office,” said Lusk. “Scottrade will be the only discount broker in Edwardsville and will be a nice addition to the community, which has a growing financial district.”
Scottrade was founded by St. Louis native Rodger Riney in 1980 and was one of the first discount brokers to offer online trading in 1996. Since opening its first branch offices in St. Louis and Phoenix 28 years ago, Scottrade has become the online brokerage with America’s largest branch network. The Edwardsville branch will be the 368th branch office nationwide.
“Scottrade has always focused on serving its customers through low commissions and exceptional service,” said Riney. “We are committed to serving our customers by growing our branch network and we are excited about the opportunities that this growth provides our customers as well as our associates.”
The Edwardsville branch is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can be reached at (618) 659-4691. Other local branch offices include locations in Fairview Heights, Ill. and Missouri locations in Clayton, South St. Louis County, Des Peres, Clayton, Chesterfield and O’Fallon.
