WEBWIRE

Courtyard by Marriott® signed a three-year agreement to advertise on the “NFL Network,” a consortium of channels operated by the National Football League. The NFL Network’s roster includes its television channel viewed on cable and satellite, NFL.com and NFL Mobile. The advertising agreement marks the first with a company that’s not an official NFL partner.

Courtyard by Marriott® (NYSE:MAR) will run its advertising from August to February, as well as in the draft in the spring, and will include in-game spots during the NFL Network’s prime-time football telecasts, as well as additional programming on the network and web site. The first televised game will premiere Thursday, November 6, and feature Denver at Cleveland.

“Partnering with the NFL is a big win for us. Our guests love sports, and NFL football garners the highest viewership levels out there,” said Mara Hannula, Vice President of Marketing Strategy and Programs. "And with more and more travelers spending time online and using mobile technology, this package allows us to reach our guests wherever they might be. It will lso serve as a great platform to communicate news around the newly redesigned Courtyard.”

NFL Network is producing exclusive programming content for Courtyard based on the concept of “greatness on the road,” which will be featured on NFL Total Access, and will profile traveling teams. One of the shows is scheduled to be filmed this fall at a Courtyard hotel in a designated game city.
