DHL Helps Expedite Orders for Electronic Payment Processing Provider, Extends Special Alliance Program to Customers.

PLANTATION, FL -- December 20, 2005 DHL, the world’s leading express delivery and logistics company, today announced a new, three-year agreement with Encore Payment Systems, a Texas-based company providing electronic payment processing solutions and equipment to small and medium-sized business (SMB) customers nationwide. Through the agreement, DHL will serve as the exclusive carrier of domestic express and ground services for Encore, and enroll the company in the DHL Alliance Marketing program, providing Encore’s SMB customers access to special DHL offers.

Encore Payment Systems develops tailored solutions for SMB customers, including electronic processing for debit, check guarantee, Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT), and e-commerce gift cards. In order to expedite credit and debit card payment processing for its retail clients, Encore was looking for highly consistent and reliable delivery service for contracts and electronic payment processing units to enable same day processing of customer orders. “DHL was the only carrier willing and able to meet our early delivery needs,” said John Crouch, CIO at Encore, “which is essential for customers to receive immediate and uninterrupted payment transactions.”

DHL will handle all transportation services for Encore’s hand-held credit card payment scanners, including shipments to retail customer locations, deliveries to Encore’s corporate office and distribution facility in Addison, Texas, and repair and return shipping.

DHL is also providing e-commerce consulting services to assess Encore’s technology requirements, and identify the automation system solutions to best enable shipment processing and tracking. For Encore, DHL’s e-commerce consultants arranged to connect Encore’s CRM system to DHL’s ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) for automatic processing of credit card payment system orders. Leveraging DHL’s scanning capabilities, both companies’ systems will be automatically updated to keep track of inventory, providing greater visibility into the status of orders.

Small and medium business customers of Encore will now also benefit from DHL’s Alliance Marketing program, extending DHL special discounts on shipping services. “DHL’s Alliance Marketing program has enabled us to approach new customers with additional reasons to do business with us,” said Crouch. “This has been valuable to more than 4,000 current customers, and we expect to leverage our relationship with DHL as an important value-add as we grow new customer business at a rate of about thirty-percent per month,” added Crouch.

“By finding unique ways to improve the customer experience for companies like Encore, we not only help our customers, but also assist our customers’ clients in becoming more competitive,” said Al Burba, area vice president of sales for DHL. “The DHL approach is based on the proposition that if you work closely with clients to fully understand their needs, provide world-class service, and offer them unique ways to partner with your company, the relationships are long-lasting with mutual benefit to both businesses.”
