LitePoint Taps Vinggaard as VP Engineering

Motorola Veteran Oversaw Software Development of GSM and UMTS Phones

SUNNYVALE, CA – July 2008 – LitePoint Corporation, a provider of wireless test solutions, announced today it has chosen Niels Vinggaard as vice-president of engineering. The 18-year veteran of Motorola’s Mobile Device Business unit has had extensive experience as an engineer, manager and director. Vinggaard will be leading LitePoint’s worldwide engineering teams in North America, Europe and Asia. “We have an aggressive new-product plan that will certainly benefit from Niels’ engineering-management experience,” stated Benny Madsen, LitePoint’s CEO.

Vinggaard, who holds a master’s degree in telecommunications from Denmark’s Aalborg University, first joined Motorola in 1990 at its Motorola Cellular Subscriber Group in Copenhagen Denmark. He had previously been a system engineer at Telecom Denmark. At Motorola, he progressed from senior engineer to lead engineer to senior staff engineer in six years time. In 1999 he became a principal staff engineer, then senior resource manager, and lastly, director of software in 2005. At that point he was managing a team of 90 digital-signal-processing software and test engineers plus contractors. He gained experience managing a globally distributed team, there, with his people located in the USA, France and India.Vinggaard was a member of Motorola’s Science Advisory Board Associate and holds two patents on GSM baseband receiver technology.
