SARASOTA, FL -- December 17, 2004 -- GPS Industries, Inc. (OTCBB:GPSN) (Frankfurt WKN#:252179), a leading innovator of Wi-Fi wireless and GPS-enabled multimedia communications and management solutions for golf facilities and residential communities, has announced its first European sale of its Inforemer(TM) golf business solution to the highly-anticipated Abama Hotel Resort opening this Spring in Spain, Europe’s fastest-growing golf market. The announcement was made by Robert Silzer, Sr., president and CEO of GPS Industries (GPSI).

In what is the Company’s first European sale, GPSI will install its proprietary Inforemer(TM) Wi-Fi GPS golf business solutions at the five-star Abama resort, poised to become one of the crown jewels of European golf, located in the world-renowned Canary Islands golfing mecca. Inforemer will provide Abama’s operators with GPSI’s full suite of advanced back-end facilities management solutions, as well as other unique solutions that will enhance guest’s golf play experience and generate new revenue streams for the course.

“Abama Golf believes Inforemer will add true value to our guest experience,” said Carlos de Aviles, Director of Golf at Abama. “We are impressed with the amount of information Inforemer can provide to our guests and its ease of use. Moreover, we anticipate that Inforemer will help Abama generate revenue.”

GPSI will provide its global positioning system and Wi-Fi wireless-based golf solutions throughout Abama’s course, and in its fleet of 80 golf carts. The carts will be outfitted with Inforemer’s 10’4" multimedia display and interactive communication units.

Inforemer is designed to enhance interaction between management and golfers, improve customer service and satisfaction, as well as provide a fully integrated wireless Wi-Fi based solution for golf course facilities management. Inforemer also provides new revenue streams through advertising sales on the mobile display units, and by providing an avenue for sales of refreshments and other course products. As the only GPS system to offer golf courses the choice of both handheld and cart-mount GPS view screen units, Inforemer is ideally suited to the European marketplace where golfers both walk the course and ride carts.

Abama selected GPS Industries’ Inforemer over standard GPS systems due to the capabilities of its Wi-Fi network and the brilliant color graphics on its GPS unit screens. “The Wi-Fi network we install creates a hotspot the size of a golf resort, not only improving the performance of Inforemer on the golf course with streaming media and real-time tournament play, but connecting the entire facility,” said Brad Allen, vice president of European operations for GPSI. “Guests can also access the Internet wirelessly from their personal laptop or PDA before and after their round of golf.”

Abama, the first of a series of anticipated sales, comes in the wake of several key phases of GPSI’s entrance into the European golf marketplace. Europe is currently the world’s second-largest golf market and a key target of the Company’s marketing and sales efforts. The Company recently announced the opening of its European office, the signing of a new UK-based distributor and the purchase of the exclusive Differential GPS (DGPS) patents for Great Britain, Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Australia and Japan. With the recent announcement of the purchase of the GPS golf patents in North America, GPSI now owns the patents for all major markets in the worldwide golf marketplace.
