Waste Management Turns to SAP to Transform Its Customer and Revenue Management Requirements

NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa. - December 15, 2005 - SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Waste Management, Inc. (NYSE: WMI), the leading provider of comprehensive waste and environmental services in North America, to transform Waste Management’s customer and revenue management needs by transitioning its software solution environment to mySAP™ Business Suite.

Waste Management joins a growing list of companies that are leveraging the SAP Safe Passage program—a tailored package of solutions, technology and incentives—to migrate to SAP, the world’s leading and most experienced business software solution provider. Waste Management becomes SAP’s flagship U.S.-based waste and recycling customer, joining more than 50 waste and recycling customers throughout the world.

The SAP Safe Passage program will enable Waste Management to focus on streamlining its customer care and billing functions to increase revenue, improve customer satisfaction and enhance its competitiveness. Waste Management plans to use SAP® solutions for container management, waste logistics and on-board computing to achieve operational excellence and to allow employees to focus on their most strategic issues. Waste Management has also selected SAP Managed Services to host the implementation of its mySAP Business Suite solution.
