Poland: Citi Handlowy Pre-Paid Cards Conquer the Market

Warsaw – Citi Handlowy pre-paid cards have conquered the market – as of June 30 there were already 400,000 active pre-paid cards in circulation. The Bank is strengthening its leading position in this market segment, which it has occupied for six years.

“Whenever I can, I emphasize the immense variety of possible uses of pre-paid cards. In our day-to-day work we look for solutions that would perfectly suit our clients’ needs – this is, for example, how the first medical pre-paid card in the Polish market was created, which is the best example of our innovative approach,” said Piotr Lipinski, Cards Products Head at Citi Handlowy. “When I look at our recent results, I can see that our joint efforts and proposed solutions hit the mark,” adds Sebastian Kucharek, Head of Cash Management Products Development at Citi Handlowy.

A prepaid card can be used in many different ways – as an element of a loyalty program rewarding, for example, employees for their sales results, a tool in promotional programs and for funds distribution, e.g., to disburse benefit payments or to pay Christmas bonuses. Each client individually decides how many cards it wants to issue, sets individual card limits and chooses the final layout of the card. It is also up to the company to decide whether its prepaid card will be loaded on a regular basis or whether it will be a non-reloadable card. The company also decides about the expiry date of its card – prepaid cards can be valid for one to three years. An additional advantage of prepaid cards is security. In the event of card theft or loss, both the card holder and the company can block the card immediately. Citi Handlowy offers its customers personalized and non-personalized prepaid cards as well as cards with and without PIN codes assigned to them.
