President George W. Bush has announced his intention to nominate Holly A. Kuzmich to be Assistant Secretary for Legislative and Congressional Affairs at the U.S. Department of Education. The White House released the following statement:

The President intends to nominate Holly A. Kuzmich, of Indiana, to be Assistant Secretary for Legislative and Congressional Affairs at the Department of Education. Ms. Kuzmich currently serves as Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Programs at the Department of Education. Prior to this, she served as Associate Director of the Domestic Policy Council at the White House. Earlier in her career, she served as a Professional Staff Member on the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions. Ms. Kuzmich received her bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University.
