Advances enable cost reductions in desalination applications.

Dow Water Solutions, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company and its consolidated subsidiaries, is continuing to take a lead position in the global water industry and will showcase new technologies for reverse osmosis (RO) seawater desalination, home water drinking, ion exchange, ultrafiltration and electrodeionization during Singapore International Water Week’s Water Expo at the Suntec Convention Center, Singapore, June 24 – 26, 2008. Dow will also review the performance of developmental 16-inch RO membranes for wastewater reclamation, which are being test-piloted in cooperation with Public Utilities Board (PUB), Singapore’s national water agency.

A founding sponsor of the event, Dow will join over 6,000 attendees from the water industry and government organizations. General manager Ian Barbour will present Dow initiatives for affordable, sustainable water desalination technology at a leadership roundtable session. New water technologies from Dow will include products that increase water quality and productivity, enabling significant capital- and operating-cost savings in seawater desalination applications.

“As the world’s largest manufacturer of RO membranes, Dow is committed to catalyzing action among corporations, NGOs and government agencies to help solve one of the world’s most pressing issues – adequate supply of fresh, accessible potable water,” Barbour said.

Dow will address its recent advances in water technology in seminars held at its booth (# K02 Exhibition Hall 401- 404).
