AMD Appoints Gustavo Arenas Chief Sales Officer

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- June 2008 --AMD (NYSE: AMD) today announced the appointment of AMD Senior Vice President Gustavo Arenas to AMD chief sales officer, effective immediately. Reflecting AMD’s commitment to re-architect its business for sustained profitability, Arenas’ charter includes ensuring coordination and collaboration among the company’s regional sales organizations and between those organizations and AMD’s global customers. Arenas reports to the Office of the CEO.

Arenas, who joined AMD in 2003, was most recently responsible for the sales, business and marketing organizations for North America, Latin America and the Caribbean. Arenas was previously responsible for AMD’s high-growth markets strategies. Prior to AMD, Arenas served as corporate vice president and general manager for Motorola, where his responsibilities spanned more than thirty years.
