Avnet Electronics Marketing Named Distributor of the Year by SEI

PHOENIX -- Avnet Electronics Marketing, an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), today announced its specialty interconnect, passive and electromechanical (IP&E) division has been named Distributor of the Year by Stackpole Electronics, Inc. (SEI).

Avnet received the award based upon achieving the highest percentage of year-on-year sales growth for 2007. Avnet was also named Distributor of the Year by SEI in 2005. “It’s an honor to be chosen to receive this award for a second time in three years,” said Ed Smith, senior vice president of sales for Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas. “The Avnet team has truly made a conscious effort to engage with SEI across all technologies and the supply chain to help our engineering customers continue to expand the limits of their power management design applications. We are proud to have those efforts recognized in such a positive way.”
