Minneapolis, December 12, 2005 – Alliant Techsystems (NYSE: ATK), the nation’s largest manufacturer of ammunition, was recently awarded a $43.5 million contract by General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) for continued production of Mk 90 rocket propellant grains at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant (RAAP) in Radford, Virginia. The multi-year award is expected to result in a total contract value of approximately $190 million.

The rocket propellant grains are used in the Mk 90 HYDRA-70 2.75-inch rocket, the most widely used helicopter weapon system in the world.
