New Fare Offers 33% Discount to Adult Traveling With Child on High-Speed France-Geneva Train

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- 12/16/2004 -- A new “Kids & Co” fare for adults accompanying children under 12 is being offered on high-speed TGV* trains between France and Geneva, Switzerland, offering a 33% discount off the regular 2nd class adult fare, according to an announcement by Rail Europe Group, leading North American supplier of European rail tickets and passes. This is a permanent new fare, not a limited time promotion, and valid for travel anytime.

The new Kids & Co fare is priced at $58 US/$80 CAD one-way between Paris-Geneva in 2nd class, just one dollar more than the child’s fare. Normally a full-fare adult ticket in 2nd class costs $87 US/$120 CAD. For each child under 12, two adults may purchase this Kids & Co fare.

While there is one 2nd class adult fare that is lower (“Book Early, Tier 1” for $50 US/$69 CAD) than this new fare, it has limited availability and is not exchangeable or refundable. The Kids & Co fare is 100% exchangeable and refundable up to 3 days prior to the train’s departure date.

Eight TGVs daily travel between Paris and Geneva, taking 3 1/2 hours to make the journey.
