Celebrity Blogger Kidnapping Inspires Controversial "Kidnap Gary Vaynerchuk Contest"

WEBWIRE

The “claimed accidental” kidnapping of celebrity blogger Gary Vaynerchuk, http://www.GaryVaynerchuk.com from the 3rd SEED Conference, Chicago, has sparked a controversial blog reply contest at http://www.LifeInPerpetualBeta.com

The alleged kidnapper, Melissa Pierce, has replied by video at the site, dodging responsibility for the hostage taking, and flippantly asks viewers to reply to the question: “What would you do if you had Gary Vaynerchuck trapped in the backseat of your car?”

Pierce, director of the documentary movie “Life In Perpetual Beta” interviewed Gary Vaynerchuk at The SEED Conference, posing the movie’s core question “Is the planned life even worth living?”, an ominous foreshadowing of the event that would follow hours later.

Pierce claims “It was just an accident. Like all good mothers, I keep my child safety locks activated. When Gary and his younger brother A.J. got in the backseat, they locked automatically.”

Mr. Vaynerchuk’s whereabouts is still unconfirmed. Blog comments on his site have not been approved since before the Chicago SEED Conference, and his office phone is not being answered.

A rideshare neighbor of Pierce alleges that her Kia Wagon appears to have been recently cleaned, as there are no trace of the usual chocolate raisins stuck to the backseat.

Pierce claims, “So I had my car detailed, that doesn’t mean I’m trying to hide evidence. You think Gary is trapped in my trunk just so I can hold a contest?”

CTO of skinnyCorp’s Threadless, a popular T-shirt design web business based in Chicago, claims he was riding in the front seat during the alleged kidnapping. “We drove a long time passing up many perfectly good parking spaces, and we didn’t stop until I agreed to let her kids be T-shirt models. When she let me out, she drove away. I didn’t know where we were. Gary and A.J. were apparently not able to unlock the back doors.”

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of either Gary Vaynerchuk or A.J. Vaynerchuk are asked to post it at http://www.GaryVaynerchuk.com or to urgently Twitter “Vaynerchuk spotted: location”.

The contest is awarding prizes for best reply to the original blog post which can be found here: http://www.LIFEinPERPETUALbeta.com/blog/gary-and-aj-held-hostage
