Harris Corporation CEO Howard L. Lance Receives 2008 Entrepreneur of the Year Award

MELBOURNE, Florida, June 2008 — Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) Chairman, President and CEO Howard L. Lance has been named a recipient of the 2008 Ernst & Young Florida Entrepreneur of the Year award for the Florida region, which recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who are building and leading dynamic, growing businesses. He was honored at an awards ceremony on June 5 in Orlando as the recipient in the “Master” category, which recognizes entrepreneurs who are well established in their industry and careers.

Award recipients were selected by an independent panel of judges. Awards are presented to entrepreneurs who demonstrate extraordinary success in the areas of innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.

Lance joined Harris as president and CEO in 2003. Under his leadership, the company has grown significantly — with annual sales increasing from $2 billion to more than $5 billion, individual stock share price rising from about $15 to more than $55 (including a 2-1 stock split), and the workforce expanding from 10,000 to more than 16,000.

“We congratulate this year’s recipients and all the finalists on their success,” said Michael J. Brennan, Florida Host of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year program. “This group of entrepreneurs is truly remarkable for all that they have accomplished.”

The recipients are eligible for consideration in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2008 national program, which will be held Nov. 15, 2008. The national Entrepreneur of the Year award recipient is then entered into consideration for the global event held in Monte Carlo in 2009.

This year, the Entrepreneur of The Year award program celebrates its 22nd anniversary. The program has been expanded to recognize business leaders in more than 135 cities representing 50 countries around the world.
