Tourists Fall Sick at the Hotel Fiesta in Es Cana, Ibiza, Spain
Commenting on reports of an outbreak of sickness at the Hotel Fiesta in Es Cana, Ibiza, travel law solicitor Andrew Morton from Manchester law firm Pannone LLP said, “Some 60 to 70 holidaymakers at the Hotel Fiesta in Es Cana have been taken ill after staying there recently.
It seems that many hotel guests were told by their tour rep that it was a virus brought in from the UK and carried through air conditioning, but this seems unlikely. There are also reports of poor standards at the hotel which is billed as three star, but the hotel does not seem to be reaching that level.”
Andrew Morton advises anyone who has been affected by sickness at the Hotel Fiesta in Es Cana to contact their doctor as soon as they return to the UK. “In the event of taking legal action it is important to have as much evidence as possible and a doctors report can be of assistance, as well as receipts for any medicines purchased abroad and copies of complaints made to the tour operator.”
He further commented that it is not unusual to hear that holiday reps try to blame the hotel guests for bringing in the sickness themselves. “It almost seems like a standard response to complaints that people are told they are to blame, but then of course guests speak to one another and discover that many of them have been affected.”
