Viking Plastics and Poly-Cast, Inc., Form Partnership to Co-Own and Operate China-Based Poly-Cast Plastics (Suzhou) Co., Ltd.

Viking Plastics (U.S.--Pa.) and Poly-Cast, Inc. (U.S.--Ore.), have partnered to co-own and operate Poly-Cast Plastics (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., an injection molding company based in Jiang Su, China, and originally established in 2006. The facility, equipped with state-of-the-art production capabilities and closed-loop process controls, currently supplies the automotive and transportation markets with tight-tolerance, custom-molded components. The new partnership enables both parties to better serve existing multinational customers and expand reach to Asian markets.

CORRY, Pa. (June 2, 2008) – Viking Plastics (www.vikingplastics.com), a VPI Acquisition Corporation company and global supplier of engineered, injection molded and assembled sealing solutions, has entered a partnership with Oregon-based injection molder, Poly-Cast, Inc. (www.poly-cast.com). The companies, both founded in 1972 and having long-established histories serving the automotive and transportation industries, will jointly own and operate Poly-Cast Plastics (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., based in Suzhou, China (near Shanghai in Jiang Su province).

Poly-Cast Plastics (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., currently in operation and running production volumes, is planned to hold 20 injection molding machines with capacities ranging from 55 to 550 tons. At the outset, the company is producing tight tolerance, mechanical/under-the-hood applications (in medium to high volumes) for the automotive and transportation sectors.
