Humaneyes and océ display graphics systems to demonstrate natural synergy in live lenticular printing at drupa 2008

WEBWIRE

Leading lenticular 3D software developer, HumanEyes, is teaming up with Océ Display Graphics Systems to offer live demonstrations of lenticular printing in combination with an Océ Arizona® 250 GT flatbed printer, on the Océ stand (A44, Hall 6), throughout the show.

The demonstrations will focus on showing printers how quickly and easily they can integrate lenticular technology into their businesses, and offer customers a unique, eye-catching and high-margin printing application.

Says Duby Hodd, CEO, HumanEyes Technologies: “Our new lenticular workflow software, Producer3D, can produce an extensive range of lenticular prints, which will be printed on the Océ Arizona 250 GT at drupa. There is a strong, natural synergy between HumanEyes and Océ technologies, which leads to outstanding print quality and crisp, accurate lenticular effects. The Océ Arizona 250 GT was certified for use with HumanEyes lenticular technology in August 2007, and the response from the market has so far been extremely positive.”

Dante DiPasquale, Director Business Development at Océ Display Graphics Systems, reiterates this point: “Combined, the Océ Arizona 250 GT flatbed printer and Producer3D offer print companies the ability to expand their product offering, and by doing so, strengthen their business model. Working together, the Océ Arizona 250 GT and Producer3D offer a unique proposition for print businesses to promote lenticular printing as a point of differentiation. Lenticular is a technology which is becoming increasingly popular and those who embrace it now will certainly reap the rewards associated with enhanced revenue streams and wider print portfolios. We are very pleased to be demonstrating HumanEyes Technologies’ latest product on our stand and to be promoting a solution that will have a direct impact on helping printers to expand their product offering and profit margins.”

The combined strength of Producer3D and the Océ Arizona 250 GT flatbed machine means printers can now take advantage of an extremely cost-effective lenticular printing solution that is simple to use and provides them with an extensive range of professional lenticular tools to help grow their business. Continues Duby Hodd: “Producer3D is unparalleled in terms of lenticular quality and productivity and we are very excited about what it has to offer the market. We are looking forward to meeting with printers on the Océ stand at drupa to demonstrate exactly how versatile and innovative HumanEyes’ lenticular printing solutions are.”

The unprecedented quality of direct-to-lens lenticular printing, which will be demonstrated by the Océ Arizona 250 GT flatbed printer at drupa, owes much to its remarkable Océ VariaDotTM imaging technology, as well as its superior geometrical accuracy. The use of thin lenticular stock, originally designed for offset printing, also makes the economics of lenticular printing much more affordable. These lenses cost significantly less than the traditional thicker lenticular lenses providing users with a faster and much more cost effective entry into the lenticular market.
Introducing Producer3D

Producer3D is set to change the face of lenticular printing with an impressive array of new lenticular tools and ‘industry first’ prepress features that simplify the pre-print process, greatly improve lenticular productivity and provide superior lenticular print quality.

Combined, these new tools – a layout editor, greater ganging functionality, a step and repeat tool, a complete range of marking tools; a new tiling wizard and the ability to save the interlace as a PDF file, as well as providing soft proofing capabilities - ensure that HumanEyes can offer the market the most up to date and complete lenticular workflow solution available today, helping printers increase their bottoms lines, expand margins and grow client demand.
The Océ Arizona 250 GT: You Won’t Believe Your Eyes

The Océ Arizona 250 GT printer offers printing without compromise for a broad range of applications. It can print onto rigid media up to 1.25m wide x 2.5m long x 48mm thick. With its Roll Media Option, users can print onto flexible media up to 2.2 m (87”) wide. It uses four-color (CMYK) UV curable inks and Océ VariaDot imaging technology with near-photographic image resolution and delivers a true production print speed (sellable prints) of 16m2 per hour.
