NOVA Chemicals introduces innovative packaging film resin with up to 50% superior moisture-barrier
Increased performance enables cost reduction and improved sustainability of multi-layer packaging
Pittsburgh, PA (May 2008) - NOVA Chemicals today introduced SURPASS® HPs167-AB resin for use in barrier-film structures. This resin offers unmatched high-moisture-barrier performance -- up to 50 percent improvement over existing resins -- and the ability for packaging designers to down gauge without sacrificing performance while helping them to meet their sustainability objectives.
“This new high-density, ultra-high-barrier resin offers packaging designers the best of both worlds -- they can reduce the film gauge to meet their customers’ performance and sustainability objectives, or they can maintain film gauge and drastically increase barrier and stiffness performance. It really is a win-win design proposition,” said Carrie Richards, SURPASS Marketing Director.
SURPASS HPs167-AB resin is perfect for any multi-layer film packaging application where moisture-barrier performance and/or stiffness are important including cereal and snack liners, meats, cheeses, ready-to-eat meals, pet foods, potting soil and other lawn and garden applications, soaps, printer cartridges and fumigation films.
