Date set for Barry George for the Jill Dando Murder Conviction Retrial

The retrial of Barry George for the murder of Jill Dando commences on 3rd June 2008 following his successful appeal against conviction and is expected to last for 4-5 weeks.

Carter Moore solicitors represented Mr George in his court of appeal proceedings having assisted him in his successful application to the Criminal Cases Review Commission, who referred the case back to the Court of Appeal on 19th June 2007. On 15th November 2007 the Court of Appeal handed down their ruling in which they found that the verdict in the first trial was unsafe.
